Design Continuum is the largest, privately held product design firm in the U.S. In 2001, the company jettisoned a large PR agency that was severely underperfoming.

In meeting the staff of product designers, strategists and engineers, trendPR’s Karin Pespisa noticed something the other agencies had overlooked—that the talented staff was the company’s biggest PR asset. Within 6 months, she transitioned Continuum from a 2-spokesperson firm into a 45-expert-strong media resource.

New messaging created widespread relevance and enabled Continuum to comment on emerging trends such as the obesity epidemic in the U.S. By partnering with the firm’s clients, Pespisa generated 3 years of press coverage on Continuum’s work with Cambridge Soundworks, Master Lock, MIT Media Lab, P&G, Samsung and U.S. Genomics. In addition, Pespisa’s award entry won the 2002 Medical Device Excellence Award for client Aspect Medical Systems.

This PR program generated sales leads as prospects learned about Continuum through the media. Additional leads sprang from speaking engagements. Below, a sampling of results and pivotal articles:
